Join Us At Dublin Maker 2024!

This year will be the 12th Dublin Maker and will take place in Richmond Barracks, on Saturday 31st of August and Sunday 1st of September 2024.

We are super excited about how much we have grown over the last 12 years, and this year is going to be very different now that we are over two days and just as much fun.

Dublin Maker is made up completely from projects submitted through our open call. So we need you to apply to make it great.

Dublin Maker relies on the help of many communities and is run by volunteers who work hard so it can remain free and accessible to all.  It is made great by Ireland’s super makers submitting projects giving their time for free. Each year we are amazed with the inventiveness and enthusiasm they bring. We have a lovely venue this year and are looking forward to filling it with creative madness. Dublin Maker gives the opportunity for makers to interact with each other, to share ideas, and to show examples of their work, projects, crafts, inventions, products and hacks in a vibrant fair-style event. We encourage you to join the fun and enter a project to exhibit. Our mission is to entertain, inform and connect the makers of Ireland while inspiring the next generation of Ireland’s makers and inventors. Remember – your project doesn’t need to be finished, and it definitely doesn’t need to be for sale. We want you to share how you make, so in-progress, hobbyist projects are A-OK!

The first step to participating in Dublin Maker is to submit an entry (using the link above) that tells us about yourself and your project. Entries can be submitted from individuals as well as from groups, such as hobbyist clubs and schools.

Please provide a short description of what you make and what you would like to bring to Dublin Maker, including links to photographs and/or videos of your project. We particularly encourage exhibits that are interactive and that highlight the process of making things.

Maker Entry Categories

You can apply as a:

  • Maker booth or exhibit
  • Commercial Maker booth (primarily a sales booth)
  • Scheduled Workshop

Maker Exhibit:

These stands make up the majority the event. They are for individuals, groups, schools and organisations that would like to demonstrate what they make and how it works. Above all, interactive exhibits are encouraged, we want to wow and engage the audience. For Maker groups, please have one point person to coordinate your efforts. There is no fee to exhibit for non-commercial exhibits.

Commercial Maker Exhibit

This is for individuals who would like to sell products along with demonstrating what they make at their Maker exhibit. Please submit a Maker application and indicate that you are a Commercial Maker. There will be a fee for commercial maker booths of €250. If your project has enough educational merit this fee will be waived. Please note, companies or commercial entities do not qualify as Commercial Makers, this is reserved for individuals and small maker groups. If you are a company or commercial entity, we would be delighted to have you as an Exhibiting Sponsor (see below).

Scheduled Workshop

This is for people who want to give a workshop at a given time. We will provide the room, tables chairs etc and the crowd. You provide an awesome learning experience to our visitors. Think of these as an opportunity to deep dive into a topic in a longer format that you would not be able to do at a maker exhibit.

Exhibiting Sponsor

Companies or commercial entities can join us as Exhibiting or Non Exhibiting sponsors. This gives our sponsors the chance to take part in the event itself in a way that adds to the Irish Maker Movement. You can find the sponsorship option most appropriate to your needs on our sponsorship page

What Happens Next

Immediately following your submission

  • Each application will be reviewed at each round. Dates are listed above.
  • Once accepted, makers are asked to complete a Maker Agreement.
  • Ongoing correspondence from the Dublin Maker team will keep you up-to-date on organising meetings, meetups, maker check-in and load-in logistics (if applicable).
